Guys,
Just saw an A318 land at PDK confirmed by Flightaware. Registered to Comlux Malta. Anybody know why this plane would be here? I know it's a corporate config, but always thought PDK had equipment that large blacklisted other than special events. Pretty cool to see coming in on approach.

micstatic.

I hope the NIMBYS at PDK Watch don't get wind of this...... Going off of the AirNav.com entry for PDK, a/c with a max gross certificated weight of more than 75,000lbs. have to have prior permission to land there, so they didn't just drop by PDK on the spur of the moment for a burger over at the Downwind.

Well I'm not looking to get anybody in trouble and would almost suggest deletion if prudent. To be honest, that airplane had to be tons quieter than some of the Lear 20's and such that rocket in and out.

I'm sure PDK Watch keeps tabs on everything that flies into PDK and aren't scoping out A.net for such info. They've probably got folks who keep tabs using one of the flight tracking programs and probably have some spotters out there as well.

You're not kidding when it comes to some of the louder business jets that operate into/out of PDK on a regular basis.

There's a big NFL owner's meeting in Atlanta on Thursday. So maybe an NFL owner is coming from his Maltese vacation, with the rest of his family continuing on to DFW (ahem Jerry Jones):

Seriously, just a wild guess.

If it's on thursday, why would you fly in on Tuesday?

Meet with the other owners the day before, play a round of golf, etc...

I would say that somebody with that kind of money probably doesn't have the time to do something like that. But then again besides the point. Looks like it may have just been a tech stop or something. I'm just interested in the details surrounding this rare bird at PDK.

I know this is about the 318 at PDK, but the NFL owner's planes keep rolling into town for the meeting.
