Does anyone know when Air India started operating CRJ7s? I don't think I've ever heard of them acquiring any. I heard of rumors of them wanting to lease, but never read anything about them actually going through with it. Could this be for Air India Express or Alliance Air?

Check the user comments on the site. Says its Alliance air, seems likely - long flight number

Actually, that was me!
I was hoping Simon could confirm if I was right.

Correct. It's Air India Regional, which began operations as Alliance Air, and they have a fleet of CR7s and AT4s.

Does not seem like AI has too many CRJs left operational - after one of them slid past the runway yesterday!

True, their CRJ fleet is quite small as it is. However, the damage to the accident aircraft seems minimal, so I suspect it should be back in service shortly.
