Regional Airlines: Pros And Cons

Pros:

Personal Service. F/A does not have to deal with more than 50 pax usually.

Quicker Service. You get your drink, and food quicker.

No middle seat on most planes. Most seats are aisles or windows.

The Ability to serve smaller markets.

Fast, New RJ's

F/A does not have as much stress (No F/C)

Easy connections to bigger airlines

Cons:

Jetbridge service unavialable on many flights.

Propeller planes are miserable.

One lav for all.

Less room on some planes.

Any Additions/Opinions welcome.

Pilots are paid much less in regionals than in majors.

Is that a pro or a con? Honestly regionals are feeders for the big boys and the only reason they can feasibly exist is because they are considerably less expensive to operate than a major airline.

Who says all prop planes are miserable? I'd fly on a prop plane without thinking twice. But then again, I wouldnt want to be on one for more than an hour and a half due to lack of space.

This should be a pro, not a con. I love walking around the tarmac. I savor every minute of it until I get to the terminal.

That is a pro with no jetways. I did get some great pictures by boarding this way.
