Not sure if this topic has been touched on if so i apologize.

Why is Jet2 going with a livery that is almost exact to G4? I understand that Jet2 is leasing one or two 752 from G4 but why is a Jet2 738 painted like a G4? See links below.

The two 757's leased from G4 have retained there original G4 livery with Jet2 Holidays titles added. The aircraft are on I believe a one year lease. Maybe part of the lease is that the aircraft must remain in G4's colour scheme

When you first look at the 738 G-GDFD it looks as if it is painted in G4's colours. However a closer look at the 738 shows that the sun on the tail is bigger in a slightly different position and a different colour. The colour blue is also darker to G4's.

The colours used on the 738 closely resemble the colours used on Jet2holidays website.

I believe that G4 as part of the lease agreement would not allow LS to repaint the aircraft. The 738 is very similar but has a couple of little differences, the sun on the tail isn't quite as sharp and the colour's are slightly different shade. From what I've been told the 738 was painted like that so that at MAN the 752 didn't look like an odd one out aircraft, as its almost meant to look like a jet2 holidays sub fleet. I'll try and find out if that's true when I go to work in an hour.

I asked this question some time ago too but didn't get any reply. Now I see the reason of the similarities. Thanks!!!
