Found this video, looks like Delta is starting to roll out a new economy section or premium economy. the Delta site states that it will start to roll out this summer, maybe on the new B 763er's?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM2KTn_qtgE

I know at least some of the 747's already have them. I saw them to and from NRT about a month ago.

The international fleet reconfiguration for Economy Comfort began in the spring and is complete. Economy Comfort or more commonly known as Y+ is now available to purchase for a fee or complimentary to SkyMiles/SkyTeam Elites. Seat maps are color coded for Y+ seats.
Increased legroom, seat recline and full bar service. Meal is same as throughout Y and so far passenger comments are positive.

watch what you want. you may get it.

Economy Comfort reconfigurations are now complete. They can be purchased for a nominal fee at booking, check-in, and even sometimes at the gate. They are offered complimentary to SkyMiles Platinum and Diamond Medallion members and offered at 50% off and 25% off rate to Gold and Silver Medallion members respectively. They offer four extra inches of legroom and also a more generous recline. Passengers in this section also receive complimentary spirits. Pretty soon I believe they are going to add in free HBO as well, but that's something to come.

Keep Climbing...

Booked this coming back from FCO in the Fall. I believe it was an extra $80, or thereabouts. Totally reasonable for the extra space and recline in my mind.

How about nonrevs, are they allowed to sit in the new Economy Comfort if First/Business class isn't available?

Not really a Y+ product in the pure sense of the term, but certainly appreciate the additional pitch.
I'm still holding out for a US carrier to offer a "real" Y+ product ala NZ, QF, VS, BA etc
