AA LGA Terminal Renovation Effects On Schedule?

Today I flew AA through LGA for the first time in about a year, and I witnessed that AA's terminal is undergoing some sort of renovation. I don't know whether the renovations are limited to cosmetic wall repaneling and floor retiling, or whether there is a lot of behind the scenes work. From my numerous experiences with AA at LGA, I get the impression that they utilize their gate space about as efficiently as they possibly can. Nevertheless, I noticed that two or three gates appeared to be walled off during the renovations. Did AA make any schedule reductions to account for these renovations and shift capacity to JFK and EWR, or are my impressions of AA's heavy utilization rates false?

I haven't read anything here about AA's LGA "makeover."

There was a press release about it when AA "reaffirmed its committment" to NYC . . . again.

Cosmetic stuff really.

AA does the best job out of all the airlines in the CTB at keeping their gates nice . . . it is hard to do in that 40 year old dump.

As long as the PANYNJ is running that terminal, you won't see more than cosmetic upgrades anytime soon.

If you recall, T4 at JFK used to be in that condition before the PA leased it off to Schipol USA and T A and B at EWR are heading in that direction.

Message to PA: privatize the terminals; you are terrible at running facilities!!
