Does anyone know why one of their 747s popped into CPH today (6th of August)? It landed and parked for 15 minutes in a remote area that I've never seen an aircraft park and then headed over to the terminal. It was too far away for me to see if there was any ground activity. Is this just a charter flight being operated and if so, anyone know why it would stop off at a remote location before continuing?

Thanks for the info. I'd still have been curious to know why it parked up for around 15 minutes before heading to the terminal. Any idea if it was bringing people in or coming to take them out?

Don't know, but probably both as Copenhagen is a major start/ending port for Northern European cruises

Yesterday was one of the largest cruise charter days at CPH this year.

The following cruise charter flights went through CPH yesterday (arrivals):

Alitalia AZ8002 Rome A320

Iberia IB2882 Barcelona A321
Orbis IWD9857 Madrid A333
Privillage Style PVG7761 Madrid B752
Privillage Style PVG7865 Barcelona B752
Pullmantur PLM6002 Madrid B744

As listed three Pullmantur B744 during the afternoon yesterday. Due to airrival delays and other things some aircrafts had to wait remote for gates to become available.

The 747 of Pullmantur has also been to Norway several times before with cruise passengers.

Pullmantur Air are wholly owned by cruise giant Royal Caribbean (RCI), and one of their main functions is to feed RCI's Spanish Pullmantur Cruises brand.

Thanks greatly for that. Wish I'd known in advance. After the Pullmantur 747 things seemed to get very quiet movement wise and being a Saturday, the cost road at the end of the runway was very busy so I decided not to hang around. Really regret that now.

Yes, yesterday was a huge cruise day almost everywhere, it seams that 06aug is the busiest cruise departure for the whole summer season in spain and Italy...

Any ideas which ships left CPH on 06aug? I know about Norwegian Sun, but they alone do not get half a dozen of 744 charters... I guess there must be some 100% spanish ships there too, Pullmantur Cruises come to my mind...

By the way, most of the charters were terribly late, i.e. one of the Pullmantur had 3 hours delay... Hope they got their ships, although a company would probably hold a vessel for a 744 load, but this costs money, too...

This site should perhaps give you a complete list:

http://www.cmport.com/en-GB/Ships%20in%20Port/Cruise%20Ships.aspx

There were some big ones like the MSC Orchestra and the Costa Luminosa, which probably explain the Italian charters.
