While I was out for a bike ride with my wife and son, we heard a plane climbing out of MCO, and to my surprise, it was an LH A380? What was the occasion for this? A diversion, or one off???
Sorry if this has been covered already, but I did a search, and didnt find anything.

It was DLH462 a diversion from the regular EDDF-KMIA flight. Not sure on the reason why. It acctually diverted from above Miami: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/D...tory/20110807/1815Z/MIA010028/KMCO

MIA had weather. That was the only flight though that was sent to us. It arrived around 2:40 pm, went to the west ramp to fuel. Young flight crew. It taxiied out around 4pm. It actually had to back taxi up 18L/36R because the Taxiway J wasn't wide enough to accomodate it where it turns. Several aircraft departed in front of it on 18R while it taxied on 18L. It then departed on 18R and made a quick turn to the south east.

I am working on the pictures now.

Terrible weather in Florida because of the tropical storm. Dumped buckets of rain, we are 20 inches under in our rain fall.

Any info on other diversions ? BA, Virgin, Air France, AA 777's.

Yep, weather this afternoon in MIA was pretty bad. Lasted two hours maybe plenty of delays sure there were a few diversions.

In FLL we got 3 AA 757s and a couple 737s from them also. A KAL Cargo 744F and a North American 767 also diverted, quite a sight to see. The 767 barely used any runway and made a spectacular takeoff. I didn't get to see the 744F leave.

I remember seeing your plane and thinking I been seeing a lot of DAL 763s at MCO lately from ATL and DTW.

It does. The only other A380 at MCO was the Airbus demo plane back in 2007.

Here are some of the pictures of the Lufthansa A380 at MCO
