LH: How Many Aircraft Converted To Europa Cabin?

Hi there,

My son is due to fly FRA>EDI>FRA with Lufthansa in the coming weeks and asked me last night if the aircraft he will be on (733 up, A320 back) will have the new Europa cabin fitted. When I last flew LH, the aircraft for the flight up wasn't, the return was. I realize it is purely "luck of the draw". (On a side-note: I really liked the new cabin, the seats were firmer but the legroom was great and it was hard to believe that the A320 I was on was 20 years old. The 733 cabin, in comparison, seemed really dark and slightly cramped (although legroom was good too.))

However, does anybody know how much progress has been made with the conversion? How many aircraft have been refitted, how many are still to be converted?

Thanks for any information!

All the best

My understanding is that DLH is doing in one month what AUA did in one year, so I guess his chances stand good!

Dear all,
Many thanks, that is great. Very good news, what a successful and speedy conversion rate!
Thanks again - my son will be delighted (he is just as much of an aviation freak as I am!)

Does anyone have a list of the new configurations for the aircraft?

Are these not the old configurations?

That is a good question. They are the only ones that seem to be published on the homepage

That's German efficiency for you   It can't be more than a year since they announced they were going to install new seats.

Have a look here. Both cabins (old and new) are listed on this overview.

So 737 is completed (minus one) as all 735 which will remain in the fleet are converted.
A319/A320 nearly completed...

I am really impressed.

And I certainly like the cabin - very nice legroom, seat decent for the european trip duration - not bad!

Perfect! Thanks for that

So they have managed to squeeze in 1 more row in the A319, and 2 more rows in the A320+A321+B733+B735, due to the slimmer seats.

This list shows that some of the B744s will be converted to a 2-class layout in 2012. Does somebody know why?
