I've been wanting to catch the SkyTeam (China Eastern Airlines) Airbus A340-600 on video, yesterday (8/13) I finally caught B-6053 departing LAX for anyone who's interested in seeing it. It's my favorite modern airliner and I absolutely love this paint scheme on it.

Enjoy!

solnabo, thank you & your welcome

B738FlyUIA, sorry if it was a tad shaky. It's a small camera and with full zoom it's hard to keep the motion perfectly fluid.

flythere, thanks! I had the reg. but I wasn't sure if it was painted in May or June, so that info helps and I updated the description under the video.

It does look awesome! The SkyTeam livery in general is very cool.. and it looks great on the A346.

What difference a well done livery makes even if its simple, I was seeing a documentry on China in which the narrator says the Chinese love everything foreign designed, clothes, architecture etc. so I find it odd that yet they havent contracted anyone to redo their airlines, the only one that seems to have bothered is courrier company SF Express/SF Airlines from livery to offices, to ground transport to website all well executed.

It took off very light, for an A340 on a tranpacific flight. It is a good looking a/c.

homeland545, thanks buddy, no problem.

747400sp, I thought the same thing! It sure perfoms better than the Air Tahiti Nui -300's that you see departing LAX. There's an extra 90,000+ lbs of thrust here!

A little off topic, but it seems like it takes the main gear and main gear doors a long time to retract. Also nice wing flex on those planes on takeoff!

Yes there's an extra 90,000+lbs of thrust here, but there an extra 200,000+ lbs of weight there also.
