There's a news item posted on Airlinersonline, saying that EK is to start to DUB this fall. I wasn't expecting this until next year (but delighted to hear it, if it's true). If that's the case, plans must be well under way.
Does anyone (Emirates777, my good friend!) have any more info - scheds, frequencies, etc. etc.

Yes the service is with the A330, so EK will be Irelands second Arab airline after Royal Jordanian which fly to Shannon and the Third Asian airline if you include Singapore Airlines cargo operations to Dublin, sadly their fourth, PIA, quit the technical stop at Shannon enroute to the U.S and Canada last year

Well....i haven't heard anything but it wouldn't surprise me. They certainly have some spare A330 capacity kicking around. However from my understanding the UK sales team when doing the route analysis indicated they can justify a max. of 3 flights weeky but these would be non-stop.
While the overwhelming favourite is the A330, they will also have some A310 capacity. So an outside possibility is A310-300 to start with, then building up to A330-200.
In terms of new destinations, the i think the next short-list is: Amsterdam, Dublin and Geneva. They desperately want to fly to Bangalore and Trivandrum but the Indians won't let them.
