Exactly six years ago, on august 16th, a West Caribbean MD-82 surprisingly lost altitude en route during a flight from Panama to Fort-de-France (French West Indies) and crashed in Venezuela, leading to death 160 persons. As reported in ASN, the status of that accident is always reported as "preliminary". As anybody something new about any causes of that disaster ?

I actually flew a Copa Airlines flight in Panama City that was boarding 1 gate over from that ill-fated flight...I got a freaked-out call from my mom the next morning (she knew I flew through Panama City, but she didn't remember what airline or destination).

Nothing new.
All the technical details are readable in the BEA's report as mentionned above.
On january this year, AVCA (the victims'association of this air disaster) gets proofreading black boxes. They suspect errors of analysis.
