Hey
I just returned from a CO long haul flight from BRU to EWR and back to FRA. I noticed the boarding music was a bit different than it used to be. Does anybody know who composes the current music.

We, OCO crew, are calling it "funeral music"! We hate it with a passion. We used to love our upbeat boarding music. Always a joy to come to work, now it seems so solemn!!!! Just venting!!!!

What's the boarding music? Rhapsody in Blues? or just instrumental/classical music?

The Micronesia side has two different types of music: (1) An instrumental piece that accompanies a video montage of the Pacific islands. This is on both the 737 flights and the NRT 767 flights. (2) Pop music with the Welcome Aboard screen in multiple languages. I've encountered this one only on the HNL 767 flights as an alternative to the Pacific video. Some of the artists I've heard include Beck, John Mayer, Frank Sinatra, Norah Jones, Michelle Branch and a few others. Makes boarding a lot less stressful, actually. Never heard any "funeral music," so to speak. I think before, they played some music tailored to the destination (i.e., Hawaiian music in Hawaii, Palauan music in Palau, etc.) Gives the flight a lot more unique feel. Hope someone brings that concept back.
You can take the boy out of the island, but not the island out of the boy!

HI
Usually on my CO flights I got the pop/oldies songs as well.
For the ones who don't know the current boarding music I found a movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCi98jnRtew&NR=1 (not my video, credits go to the owner)
