As we should know, DL has ordered 100 737-900ERs (okay, not technically yet, but 99% likely), I wonder, what will happen to DL's older 752s that are eqiupped with AVOD? An example of one of these aircraft is N610DL (the former Pink BCRF 757).
I surely hope DL orders their 739ERs with AVOD, however, DL has some younger 757s that lack AVOD, such as the 5600-series ex-NWA aircraft. I personally think a good idea to save some money vs. buying completely new AVOD systems would be to transplant the existing seats/AVOD onto younger 757s that lack the system.
Also, DL was planning to replace the overhead CRTs with LCDs on the PMDL domestic 752 fleet. Is that still being planned?

I don't know if that can be done without cutting the manufacturer a large check....after all, they would rather sell you a new system than retrofit an existing system into another a/c. The MAS system 2000 equipment removed from the MD-11s was never used again.........

There is a lot more than just swapping out the seats with the PTVs, it would require a significant amount of mod work particularly involving the aircraft electrical system. There are substancial costs involved for the installation, certification, and labor regardless if the equipment is "free". This also would require labor to remove the seats from the aircraft being retired.

Well, DL actually did do something similar with the 76Ts, where the seats/IFE was pulled out of the domestic 763s that DL returned to the lessors (of course, without the satellite TV equipment).
Interestingly, I flew on a 1998-build PMDL 752 last year on ATL-ABQ, and it was one of very few newer PMDL 752s without AVOD. The PSUs were of the 737NG-style, except they were colored brown instead of white, and the FA call lights were red instead of white.

Don't worry they will be sure to take out those PTVs to put them on N624AG which they most certainly will put on ATL-ABQ during the Ballon Festival. Sorry, it won't have DL seat markers, but it will have the faux wood lav floors.

The seats that went to the 76Ts came from a/c that were parked and not returned to lessor. Also, the 76Ts already had the Panasonic system for BE installed, so it was not an entire shipset installation.
The Rockwell TES system went with the MD-11s when they were sold/returned, so all that equipment probably ended up in a dumpster at FedEx at LAX.
