Anybody know why AA 1511 from MCO to DFW is delayed today? After doing some sleuthing on Flightaware I can't figure it out. 1511 is an MD80, all the JFK flights are 738 of 757, thus the delay can't be the result of the hurricane on the east coast. There isn't an obvious inbounder from ORD or DFW that turns around as 1511. Last night's flights seemed to operate normally, thus it can't be a crew rest issue.

No facts here, just guessing:
I think the inbound was AA1434, which was a scheduled 0615 departure out of DFW, which means it likely spend last night in DFW. In that case, if a 0615 departure (the first flight of the day for the a/c) is delayed by 90 minutes, I would guess mechanical of some sort.

I didn't see 1511 in the AA website, you are probably correct. Thanks.

Also, the whole system for most airlines will most likely be off as they are trying to recover and cover extra sections into/out of the Northeast. I wouldn't doubt we see delays into Wednesday evening maybe Thursday morning before operations get back to normal.
Again, just a guess but I have been hearing ripple effect delays all across the country/world.
