747 Designations?

What do the different designations stand for in determining the type of 747? For instance, browsing through Airliners.net, I came across a "747-300 SCD". What is that "SCD" mean? Is it something that physically defines/differentiates 747-300's? What other types of designations are there? There are many more that I've seen here but can't figure out what these are...

I'm only familiar with the 747 SP which at first I thought was small plane; it's actually "special performance."

The "F" is obviously for freighters (certainly not a way to tell you competitors that you're better than them.)

why don't you try checking http://www.boeing.com

The list there entire product line, and stats of older planes, maybe it's there, ya know?

Thanks for the replies.
I checked the Boeing website, but can't come up with the info. Their search engine isn't helpful at all.

I would like to recommend you

http://www.house747.freeserve.co.uk.

then choose "IATA/ICAO Aircraft Type Codes",
there you get all the information you want.
