Flying into Sarasota the other day and of course bad weather popped up. Florida during the summer always offers some excitement. Well I had my handy dandy Flip cam and decided to take a video of the landing. Needless to say it wasn't a normal landing! We had a windshift/windshear on short final and then had to ascend into the thunderstorm that caused it. Amazing job by the crew btw. They kept us informed the entire time.

Looked a little rough out there! I've only flown to SRQ once but fortunately it was ideal flying weather.
A couple months ago I was flying YYZ-YUL with WS when the 736 I was on was hit with a horrendous windshear on short final. The crew decided against a go-around and we landed safely without further incident. I'm assuming we were below minimum altitude for an aborted landing as indicated by the carrier's SOP. Definitely a "life flashing before my eyes" moment. There were screams and crying children throughout the cabin. I certainly wish I had recorded the event!
