There are two unpainted CRJ's parked at YXU and I was wondering if anybody has any information on these two aircraft.

Isn't there an operation at YXU that converts CRJ100/200 frames to custom interiors for exec/charter ops ?

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Any idea on the regs?

Could be QK CRJs due for C-Check and a paint job. Could also be some CRJs that are coming out of the CPA fleet for Air Canada as they should have or are about to receive their 4th DH4.

if your flight goes MX in YUL, I might be called to fix it!

I think that would be FlyingColors in Peterborough

Some of SkyWest's CRJs have pretty minimalist paint jobs and they fly into YXU. Were they totally white?

Bingo (AFAIK).

IIRC, these two were two of the high-lease cost -200's in our (QK) fleet, and, as part of the small "drawdown" of the CRJ fleet, they were pulled off the line and parked until the lease runs out. I don't know if they still carry the QK reg, but they would have been in the 15X line of CRJ-200's.

Again, this is just what I've heard from conversations with various people and is not guaranteed to be 100% correct!

(And we recieved our 4th Q400 (C-GGOI) earlier this week)

Last Flight(s): YHZ-YUL-YYC-YVR-YYJ // YYJ-YYZ-YSJ-YHZ.....Next Flight(s):

Will we see any of the Q400's on any regular service to YXU or are they being used to expand the services?

As of now, no Q400's are scheduled to go to YXU. YFC is being added this week to go along with YQT and YQB. I've heard many rumours about the future destinations, but again all of those are just rumours.

During the winter schedule the Q400's will be seen on various routes such as,

YUL-YQM
YUL-YFC
YUL-YSJ
YYZ-YFC
YYZ-YSJ
YYZ-YQM
YYZ-YQT
YYZ-YQB
YYZ-YSB
YYZ-YAM
YYZ-YTS

There's probably more, but that's all I've seen in the recent schedule upload.

Do they have any intentions of sending them out West to help replace some of the older 100/200's? How many Q400 frames did AC order in total?

If I were to speculate on the longer term intentions,my guess, all 15 firm frames will be assigned to routes in the east. Rumour has it that the other 15 options will be exercised, and it is those frames that I suspect will be used in the west. Just look for the day the Q400 is assigned on the YQT-YWG route, then you'll know that they are on their way west. The initial order rate is about one per month,so don't expect any news until next year. It should be interesting to see what happens to the Sky Regional Q400 contract at YTZ.

Apparently these are flying with less than 35 pax most of the time.... How patient/aggressive is AC going to be remains to be seen.

I can only assume the break even for AC on this route is higher than PD? I'm curious if they'll both be able to stick it out and survive in the market together.

While the soft product on those flights is pretty comparable to PD, the hard product sucks. The seats are cramped and uncomfortable and there is no closet for bags, coats or larger fragile items. I flew and was not very impressed with the AC service compared to the PD service. If they really want to compete they should offer double status miles on that route as well as lounge access in YUL, which are both things PD can't offer.

Sorry, what does that have to do with CRJ's at YXU which is perhaps 500 nm away?

I think that this is in the wrong thread. That plane is not a CRJ nor is it in YXU, it was at YOW and an ERJ-145.
