Will the same crews fly both the 744 and 748 interchangeably?

It could be one of the first, since LH goes with the 744 on DEN-FRA now. And I do believe both airports are ready for it.

and I assume the aircraft behind the lufthansa is the 747-800 destined for Cargolux?

delightful! I haven't paid a lot of attention to where the -8s will be deployed. I assume lufti going to keep the -400s for a while, so the -8s are just added capacity where the a380 isn't required?

I know that there is a place for the A380, but this 748 excites me so much more! It isn't just because I think it looks so much better, but that it has evolved from the original 747, and is now the ultimate 74. Boeing will always be my favourite for widebody aircraft, including the 767, especially the 200 International series. I had so many comfortable flights on that aircraft, even when it was full, on YVR-LHR-YVR.
I have never seen an A380, and don't much care. But I can't wait to see the new 748, Hope it will come to YVR!

Just when I think you've said the stupidest thing ever, you keep talkin'!
25 JFKPurser : I believe D-ABYA was the registration used for Lufthansa's first 747-130. So I like that it has come full-circle.
26 airbazar : Funny. The 744 is arguably my favorite airplane to look at. The 748, not so much. The stretch looks disproportionate, like a cartoon that got its tail
27 N766UA : Is it just me, or does having the extended upper deck really make the ass end of that airplane look like a complete afterthought? I mean, it's a true

33 Post contains images calibansa333 : haha Took me a second to figure that one out, but I see what ya did there!
34 Max Q : looks great, as does any 747 but the Classic -200 is still the best looking !
35 Superfly : So happy to see the 747-8I in a revenue passenger livery finally. Althoughout I'm not a fan of Lufthansa's livery, I am happy to see a new generation
36 Lufthansa : hahaha, it took me a minute too! Half the others probably still haven't figured it out. D-ABYA "Double ya" as in doublya bush
37 airbazar : Nope. It looks like an anorexic model with a big head. The extra length make it look a lot skinnier.
38 FoxTwo : Wilco I hope this is not too much of an amateur question - but will there be some drastic changes 400-800? Any that you have heard of / can explain?
39 Post contains images Ychocky : Is it wrong I pictured a Top Gear episode with you as the Stig, putting this gorgeous aircraft through it's paces?

49 Post contains images PEET7G : There is simply something in the LH livery that makes it timeless and makes every plane good looking. No matter how hard I try to explain it to myself
50 worldliner : Looks great, saw some others pictures of it and now excited to see this beauty in the sky.

55 AirPacific747 : I don't think it is a particularly good looking aircraft. For me, it has lost its beautiful proportions, and I am missing some bigger winglets as well

70 Post contains images USAF336TFS : Personally, I'd like to see LH name her "Queen of the Skies" and put to rest all the debate which aircraft has had, and will always have, that honor.
71 Post contains images wilco737 : Excellent idea. Let's suggest that to LH. But LH loves their 380 so much that they won't accept that for sure. wilco737
72 na : I think it´ll be a mix of 748 destination names (i.e. Mumbai) and later city names/German state names taken over from old 744s being retired.
73 FlyingHollander : After looking at many pictures I suddenly asked myself: Doesn't Lufthansa usually use orange letters? Now having searched Lufthansa Logos on google I

75 Post contains images USAF336TFS : I tend to agree with you, but knowing that their fleet planners read these boards frequently, perhaps we've just put a little suggestion in their ear
76 FlyingHollander : Thanks for the explanation na That's a shame, I think it would look rather good.
77 ER757 : If only.....that's my favorite LH livery, wish they'd bring it back. I'll miss the winglets, it really made the 744 "special" when it first went into
78 USAF336TFS : My next suggestion... Simply "America".

86 fpetrutiu : Any chance for the 748i to do a few MCO runs from FRA?
