Have yet to see it at MCO or the 777 for that matter. I am hoping maybe Christmas we finally see some.
MCO has mainly been DC-10, MD-11, although today I saw an A310.

Quoting skymiler (Reply 3): We see one in TLH nearly every day!
Yep, I saw it last time I was there. My DL flight from ATL landed at about 8:30 or so and it was there parked guessing it leaves later at night. I was surprised to see a Fed Ex 757 but TLH is the capitol of Florida a very large state sure there is plenty of important mail.

Quoting catiii (Reply 7): So then it's Morningstar doing business as FedEx? Or vice versa?
They are FedEx a/c leased to Morningstar and they are maintained and flown by Morningstar even the registration is changed to canadian. But yes you can say they are the FedEx of Canada they move freight for them don't know the details but I think cabotage rules are the reason they use Morningstar to move freight within Canada.

TLH is the stereotypical size of those FX markets that receive solely the 757. It probably carries freight for Panama City as well as Valdosta, I would think.

Morningstar (YEG based) operates 7 aircraft supporting Fedex Canada's domestic business. All 7 operate only in Canada and are seconded from the Fedex US fleet. Current 5 752F, 1 722F (presumably to return to the US shortly) and 1 ATR-42-300F. Primary 752F markets are YVR, YYC, YWG, YYZ, YMX, YHZ. Not sure about YEG, YOW, YQM or YYT.
Fedex Corp (ie. the US company) cannot fly domestic freight with Canada, hence the use of Morningstar.

Quoting 727LOVER (Reply 5): I'm not sure exactly what that means.
I meant that FLL & MIA see the FX 757 (Although I've been proved wrong as FLL does not see it)

Quoting aa61hvy (Reply 9): They'll move the MD-11 there before the 777. They are focusing on the Asia/Europe runs.
We already get the MD-11 at MCO. I was just wondering at Christmastime when there are several additional flights that a couple might be used. UPS sent one of its 744s last year, so why wouldn't Fed Ex send a 777?

UPS mixes in its 747s domestically during the holiday season. At PDX I've even seen two on the ground at the same time. FX however needs the 777s to fly internationally, and there isn't enough to go around. There are plenty of smaller aircraft in the states to send adhocs wherever they are needed.
There is also the issue of training. FX will not send an aircraft for which the ramp crew at a given station is not trained. It's not like many airlines where all the training on all the equipment is lumped together. There is a separate class for each type in the fleet, and if a given station is not expected to regularly see the type, then the class is not offered. For instance, I am trained on the MD10/11, 727, 757 and feeders, but not on the 777 or A300/310.
A crew is also not considered trained until there has been hands-on work with the aircraft. A class is not good enough, the plane has to be on the ground at that station.

As more 757F get converted for FX you'll see more movement in Florida. The new European crew base will take some too.

No 77F on domestic ops for foreseeable future. You could need the lift and we'd send five A310. Maybe when FX launches the 777BCF you'll see 77F on MEM/IND/LAX-ANC. Maybe not.
