Definately a worth while read. About a week ago I was having a similar discussion with a mate. We came to the conclusion that russian aircraft safety was something that either of us did not know much about.

I'm sure this is not a complete surprise to all of us here. Another factor which has unfairly tainted their reputation is the safety record of certain non-Russian airlines who operate Soviet/Russian aircraft, particularly older ones.
