Will be used on AY81 HEL-SIN tonight and AY82 SIN-HEL tomorrow. Word is that the livery will be on only for these two flights...

Modern day version of the moomins, that was put on the MD-11's about 5-10yrs ago!

Me likes!

A very successful Finnish export, for the mobile gaming company Rovio.

When I saw your post before seeing the video of the aircraft, I had expectations for a bunch of Angry Birds clustered (perhaps in action too) in the front of the fuselage, just like how AY applied the Moomins livery. What a letdown.

I guess a few Angry Bird stickers is still better than nothing though.

Oh I wish the Angry Bird stickers would stay there and the Moomins and Santa would return, loved those. AY 340 with the Santa livery:

The A 340 is simply beautiful.... Stickers or not.
BTW at second 58 looks like there is a quite big bump on the fuselage under the copckpit window. (Angry) bird strike?

I think it's a reflection of the light.

Nice livery though. I don't really like the game, but it's nice to see some splash of color on an AY-plane

The Moomins were simply the cutest thing that has ever been applied on the MD-11s. One version had the hippo placed right where it seems there is a light sitting on its nose ... and such beautiful pastel colours too.

AY081 operating OH-LQD with the Angry Bird stickers is currently in mid-air enroute to Singapore ... and is due here at 1558hrs (local time) - 12 minutes ahead of schedule.

Looking forward to seeing it here ... except that the weather isn't great!

Can anyone confirm if these stickers are for just this one flight here and back ... or will they be retained for some time?

Maybe it's a new level of the game where you can throw Finnair planes at the pigs

Why would they only have them on for 2 flights? When an airline adds anything to their aircraft, don't they have to get approval to fly them? Why go through all that just for two flights -- well I except for money.

Because the flight is a special Angry Birds flight. There will be players on board the flight playing Angry Birds against each other for the entire flight, and I guess they are doing some kind of tournament.

At least one Birdie was checked in: http://twitpic.com/6nvrhd

I read on the FlightForum.fi that Angry Birds were everywhere on the flight: Angry Birds meals (!) were available, the crew wear Angry Birds aprons, the pillows were replaced by soft toys and so on. And of course the game, the Angry Birds Asian Challenge, the first prize is a long haul flight. I just wonder what the rest of the passengers thought about the Angry Birds invasion

There was an Angry Birds Changi Airport Challenge also:

I hear that the stickers will be removed after the return flight. So did any spotter in SIN managed to take a pic of it?

Those are slick -- thanks for sharing.

I hope they keep them on, but I would imagine that would cost them more to the makers of the games.

This strikes me as an odd choice of stickers to put on a jet. Those angry birds characters fly into things and explode- that's ALL they do. You want that on your jetliner?

So, what happens when the aircraft sees a green pig?

Some guys here already came up with an idea to paint a damn big green pig on a field near an airport...!

I Dunno, but what if you tap on the yellow bird on the engines? will it make the A340 climb faster?

MIAspotter.

I think, therefore I don´t fly Ryanair.
