AIRLINERS.NET CREW PHOTO SCREENER
Quoting gilesdavies (Reply 1): Modern day version of the moomins, that was put on the MD-11's about 5-10yrs ago!
When I saw your post before seeing the video of the aircraft, I had expectations for a bunch of Angry Birds clustered (perhaps in action too) in the front of the fuselage, just like how AY applied the Moomins livery. What a letdown.
I guess a few Angry Bird stickers is still better than nothing though.

The A 340 is simply beautiful.... Stickers or not.
BTW at second 58 looks like there is a quite big bump on the fuselage under the copckpit window. (Angry) bird strike?
Canadian goose? Canadian Hockey player?

The Moomins were simply the cutest thing that has ever been applied on the MD-11s. One version had the hippo placed right where it seems there is a light sitting on its nose ... and such beautiful pastel colours too.
AY081 operating OH-LQD with the Angry Bird stickers is currently in mid-air enroute to Singapore ... and is due here at 1558hrs (local time) - 12 minutes ahead of schedule.
Looking forward to seeing it here ... except that the weather isn't great!
Can anyone confirm if these stickers are for just this one flight here and back ... or will they be retained for some time?

Why would they only have them on for 2 flights? When an airline adds anything to their aircraft, don't they have to get approval to fly them? Why go through all that just for two flights -- well I except for money.

Because the flight is a special Angry Birds flight. There will be players on board the flight playing Angry Birds against each other for the entire flight, and I guess they are doing some kind of tournament.
I read on the FlightForum.fi that Angry Birds were everywhere on the flight: Angry Birds meals (!) were available, the crew wear Angry Birds aprons, the pillows were replaced by soft toys and so on. And of course the game, the Angry Birds Asian Challenge, the first prize is a long haul flight. I just wonder what the rest of the passengers thought about the Angry Birds invasion

This strikes me as an odd choice of stickers to put on a jet. Those angry birds characters fly into things and explode- that's ALL they do. You want that on your jetliner?
