Hi guys,

Around 17:30 a white A340 flew low over my house, departing BUD. It was all white, kind of Blue/gry tail, and just before the tail there was a band on the fuselage, couldnt identify the colour due to the sun.

What could it have been? First thought was an Airbus testflight, or a Finnair A340. It departed towards the north.

The only 4 holer we get here regularly is the Cargolux 747, but it didnt look at all like a 747.

Anyone?

Just found it in the history of flightradar24.com :

Airline: World Airways

Aircraft: Boeing 747-412BDSF (B744)

Reg: N742WA

Radar: LHBP

Any idea what it was doing at BUD? I never saw anything other then a Cargolux 747 here.

N742WA is flying on behalf of Cargolux at the moment. We see it in HKG often.

World has been coming through BUD for Cargolux since September of 2010, 4 times per week. This schedule will change starting Wednesday of this week for a little over a month.

I got the word that either the Prime Minister or Emir of Kuwait were on a visit to Budapest. I wonder if the white A340 might be a leased aircraft transporting these Kuwaiti VVIPs?

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde
