I'm watching the 787 delivery flight live online at boeing.com and she sure looks great!

I thought it was weird that in the background of the audio you hear a man say "I hate that airplane but it's my paycheck". Is this the feeling of other Boeing employees as well?

Absolutely not. Maybe he works on the airplane, so he has put in lots of overtime over the past 3+ years.

It's a pity that fellow's comment was recorded for posterity. He certainly doesn't speak for everyone at Boeing. Many Boeing employees are rightfully proud of the 787-8.

On the newairplane.com website there is a link to flightaware. You can track the 787 here:

direct climb to 370 and then later to 400, pretty light on the delivery flight I guess?

I am tracking the flight on Flightaware from take-off at PAE to landing at HND.

I bet there are lots of happy bunnies on board especially the captain and pilots!
Any idea if this is an all ANA flight deck crew on this very first trans-Pacific flight?

Is there a live audio webcast from the flight deck available anywhere online?

Happy Flying Princess Dreamliner!

Its not the first trans Pacific flight of the 787 for sure, or even by an ANA flight crew.

Plus yes, this is their plane now, they're flying it.

Who else could be on board on that flight?

Could they have sent some of their VIP's back on that flight?

Flight Aware says they have been in the air 5 hours with 4 hours and 24 minutes flying time remaining.

They are now way past half-distance!

I bet many aviation lovers are following this very special flight.

Have a happy and safe flight Princess Dreamliner!

Depends on the definition - ANA pilots have operated several trans Pacific 787 flights.

But yes this is the first one by a customer on their own plane - which goes to support the logic that its ANA's pilots flying.

Does anyone have a link where the departure video can be seen?

Edit: Nevermind, found it on Boeing. Love the windflex on takeoff and the wing rocking on departure, nice touch by the ANA pilots! She's a beauty, I hope all expectations are met and exceeded for this aicraft! Standing by for actual in-service performance data!

Actually, that appears to be a video clip from July (from the caption in the top left), when Boeing took the 787 on their "sales tour" around the world. Note the paint scheme...its not the special livery airplane that was delivered yesterday at PAE. Sorry...

Nothing really happens in the video until around the 30 minute mark when JA801A comes into view.
