Chinese Lanterns And Airspace

I was wondering about how much risk chinese lanterns pose to aircraft and airports. I live just a couple miles from LGW and I have see a few Chinese Lanters before and 1 actually just now, heading in the direction of the airport. Could this affect pilots and ATC?
