Today we had the very first time visit of A380 in Prague. Thousands people around the airport, beautifull weather and low pass of A380.

Great vid. Really nice move from ATC to ask for a flyby - and really nice move from the LH pilots to comply. I'm sure everyone out there had a great time  . The landing looked like an awesome greaser to me!

WARNING! The post above should be taken with a grain of salt! Furthermore, it may be slightly biased towards A.

Cool video!! I am guessing that's not a scheduled service...if I may ask, what was the occasion?

Here's a good topic about the event at BUD, with lots of pictures and videos, however this spotter forum is Hungarian, but I guess the pictures are enjoyable to anyone  http://www.airportal.hu/spotter-forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5645

That's a great video, thanks for sharing. They were giving quite the show! The Czech flags were a nice touch. I can't imagine that OK liked this though

What a fantastic little video.

I'm not sure what the occasion was but that was really nice of LH to be there and show their Czech flags and to do the low fly-by.

When are LH going to do FRA-LHR short trips like AF did?

Do any others get a link to a malware exe-file in the word "video" in the first posting? - That is a bit sneaky I think...

[Edit: strange, the link disappeared now that I saw the thread again after adding this posting to it... - Maybe my computer?]

That is great!

Cheers to LH and Prague Tower for such a great show to aviation fans! Always great to see a field full of people who love airplanes. Especially the parents taking their children to share the magic and pass on the tradition.

After previous fly-bys at airshows in Europe (AF procedure apparently now bans them after A320 incident) and the low pass of another great carrier at Boeing field, one could only imagine the crew might be worried they might get into trouble. Captain was smart to reconfirm ATC was requesting for him to do the procedure.

Top marks to the crew for the crowd pleaser and courtesy. Really nice steady pass. Gotta say that while sometimes the A380 can look a bit odd, I thought it looked beautiful on that fly-by. Its size really makes it look slow and what a treat for the viewers.

Thanks for posting.

Terrific Youtube video! Unreal! First thought I had was that, "Is this scripted?" I guess it wasn't and it showed the ATC's love of aviation and also showed the ATC's compassion to those who came to watch it land asking the LH pilots to do a low approach! I'm certain many ATC's would be nervous to ask a pilot to do something like that.

This video cannot get any better! The ATC's come out on top, so does LH! Win win for all parties involved!

Congrats to LH, the captain operating the flight, the ATC's, PRG, and lastly, the spotters who witnessed something special in person!

The fly-by was nice, but not as spectacular as D-AIMB's maneuver at SZG last year:

Unfortunately it was only promotional flight and we can not expect any regular A380 in Prague in near future.
But we´ve enjoyed this special visitors so much, I can´t remember any other event in history of PRG with so many people around the aiport.

Yes, it is odd that LH has not seen fit to bring its A380 into the UK especially as we are one of the German carrier's
most important markets in Europe. So far LH's super jumbo has visited many cities around mainland Europe and Scandinavia.
It is true that LH might encounter problems with space for its A380 at LHR T1 (AF used T4 for its summer-time A380 flights) but LH could easily operate the super jumbo into BHX and MAN. It would give LH a lot of favourable publicity seeing as a good number of BHX and MAN pax fly with LH via FRA/MUC.
