USA3000 ORD Operations

Earlier today I was booking airfare from ORD-RSW-ORD for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Out of ORD you basically have a few nonstop choices, one of them is/was U5. I know that U5 is slowly shutting down operations (I believe as the leases on the planes expire they are not extending them). When I looked for flights between ORD-RSW, there were no U5 flights in the entire month of November. Have routes already been cut from the U5 schedule or is this a seasonal route that has not started or will not start up now?

Unless the domestic flights appear somewhere else, Apple's forward schedule doesn't show any flights ORD-RSW:

It does show Frontier starting to replace USA3000 on a couple of the ORD routes - HUX and MBJ.

As above, USA3000 is closing down, the aircraft are being returned to the lessors over the next few months.

Frontier has signed a seven year contract with Apple Vacations to replace that flying and more. For example, Frontier has already taken over the PHL flying for Apple:

Looks like they haven't stopped all flights yet between ORD-RSW, there are some flights showing up in December around Christmas. I am not sure if the site is not showing flights since they are sold out, or if there are just a small handfull of U5 flights now. I flew them once between ORD-RSW and it was a nice flight and a nice crew. Shame to see them leave, as it was a good alternative from AA and NK into RSW.

Gonna miss flying with them. It was the only low cost (when it was) airline that had good service. What a shame.
