I had heard that on this date a bomb was planted on a TWA 707 flight that killed all 88 in 1974. A bomb had blown up a Continental 707 killing 45 near Mississippi in 1962. My question is were the terrorists ever caught and why were they blown up? Was both plane's wreckage every recovered? I found out about the bombings in an old book done by Brian Moynahan called "Airport International" published in 1978. The book only lists the crashes but it doesn't say anything else.

The TWA info NTSB report is at Embry Riddle Aviation University's web site. It gives the details and witness accounts from another aircraft(seeing the plane in the distance loose an engine and go down etc..). It offers no verdict except to say that it was in luggage in the rear cargo compartment.
