Hello everyone! I couldn't let this topic die. But Ive got a fun question at the end of this one, so stay tuned...
But as far as which aircraft I would own if money were no object, I would just be the Sultan of Brunei (please pardon me if misspelled) and buy one of everything!
For those "hawkeyed" members out there, yes, I did respond to the first post before, but I needed to make some additional changes. Actually, it would go as follows.
Personnal fleet:
747X: (non-stretch) I would have this configured similarly to the way Mls515 and Blink182 have theirs done with some changes. Mine would incorporate some ideas from the 747X and 744LR. The upper deck would also be designed for the flight crew. But the front half would have a lounge ( i.e. BBJ ) and the aft would have pod seating ( i.e. BA, UAL first class ) On the main deck, the front of the aircraft would be the movie theater. The screen would be at the very front. Behind the theater will be the bar area. Then various bedrooms, living rooms, and seating areas for me and friends. Overhead space utilization would be used for beds with flat TV's for quests. Cargo area would hold additional aux tanks to extend range beyond 10,000 miles.
Then;
BBJ3 (757 with aux tanks for 7,500 nm range)
BBJ1
Hawker Horizon
PC12
Lancair IV-P
C182RG
Bell 609 tiltrotor
Bell 427
Now for my fun question:
If you could buy a retired aircraft that can no longer flies and reconfigure the interior to be your home, What would it be? I ask this because I know of a woman that bought a 727 fuselage and now lives in it. I would choose an L-1011 for one main reason. I would have access to the intake of the #2 engine so I could have a slide that goes to the pool at the back!!
