is KL going once daily at YYZ. I just notice their beautiful B747 touch on 23 around 4:30 and it was to arrive at 3:35 which used to be the old arrival time for this flight until they went twice daily. Can anyone confirm this form me.

Quoting something (Reply 1): It's a daily flight and was 42mins. delayed today. Nothing worthy of note, really.
Wasn't KL serving YYZ twice daily with 691 arriving 11 in the morning and 695 arriving 7 in the evening? Just wondering if they are now serving YYZ once daily. Anyways I couldn't find 695 on flightstats today so I am guessing they went back to once daily.

And Perhaps with WestJet feeding them pax from YYZ to YUL and onwards, They might just end up serving YYZ once daily as I am their flight from YUL is now getting fill up.

Is this route a "successful" one? Is that big of a route to use a 747 on?
Cheers

I Have been on 691, 692 and 696 and trust me the plane was about 95 percent full. I know they are doing very well on this route which is why I was bit suprise to see them going once daily. but I am seeing 695/696 for booking in March next year. As for my reason for asking this question was due to fact that I am planning a trip ACC which will see me fly all the long and medium hual A/C KL have. this flights will operate by B777, MD11, A330 and my fav of all B747.
Exactly. Summer will see double daily again.

KL has been flying the 744 daily for years to YYZ,
Not quite. Last summer, it was 13x weekly, with a mix of B744, A332 and B772
KL691/692 332 x4
KL695/696 74M x357 772 357

Sorry, I don't live there any more and I try to keep up on what is going on in Canada, but sometimes it is a little hard to do.
Although with the 772, I would like to go with that one instead of the A332. I don't find the A330's to be as nice to fly in as the Boeing long haul aircraft.

I remember seeing a KL 742 (or possibly 741) at YYZ in the winter of 1982, then a tag on AMS-YUL-YYZ.

It's often commented that the route is not large enough to fill that daily 747, however it is mix of Combi and Regular aircraft.
The 5 full size 747's are 42/36/337 and the 17 Combis have 140 less seats at 42/36/197
KLM has a flexible fleet and a route structure that allows them to swap out the Combis and vice-versa. Just yesterday PH-BFU subbed for the MD-11 on KL671.
I traveled on KL691 with PH-BFG "City of Guayaquil" last February and economy was oversold.

They converted a 74M to all-passenger configuration a couple of years ago so they now operate 6 all-passenger and 16 as combis, at least that's what appears in their fleet data in their current inflight magazine.

KLM is now flying just one daily flight which is an afternoon arrival (which is what their old schedule bascially was). These were previously morning arrivals around 1130 and departures in the evening.
They also had late evening arrivals and departures (I believe five days a week) but those have now been cancelled.

Oh cool, will have to dig to find out the regs
PH-BFH, "City of Hong Kong" (in KLM Asia livery) is the combi that is now operating in all-passenger configuration.
