Didn't see another thread started for this, and wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of this milestone!

Article states that #1,000 is going to EK. Congrats to Boeing on designing such a great family of aircraft that have operated successfully and very safely for over a decade and that will continue to operate for decades to come!

Well, as the biggest 777 operator, it's only fitting that EK will receive 777 number 1000. Too bad it isn't their 100th 777 (it will be their 102nd).

Didn't realise the total number of 777s ordered now stands at 1295  Wow! It should reach 1,500 now with ease... Something I never thought would, not even when 777 nr. 1000 was sold a few years back.

Congrats Boeing! The 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, and now 777 have all reached 1000! Has the 767 reached 1000? I don't think they have but the USAF tanker contract would put them over for sure. Now the 787 on the other hand....

(And no I'm not gonna count the 717, that doesn't count!)

Ironically I have never flown a Delta MD-90 :)

You know what amazes me? "49-day build process"... WOW!!! That's pretty impressive to start with basic components and end up with a machine which can fly hundreds of people and tons of cargo halfway across the world in such a short space of time!

Congratulations Boeing!

Suprised the 767 didn't make that cut...

I have a feeling FX is going to be a decent chunk of making it to 1500. But that's just my gut.

Randy T's Journal says it'll be delivered in March. Just so happens EK starts SEA/DXB in March too. Would be an easy hop to SEA from PAE - they could put her right to work!

As a regular EK'er I might make a hatrick:

Flew the 1000th 747 9V-SMU in May 2000 (London-Singapore) and the 1000th Cessna Caravan V3-HIK in March 2002 (Flores-Belize)

I knew this had to be close. We shipped our 1000th shipsets of rudders and elevators a few weeks ago, though presumably some of those were for spares.

Cool stuff. Several weeks ago I had the honor of flying the first delivered 777, N777UA on UA. Even though she was 15+ years old, she looked spectacular as she had recently been painted in the new UA/CO livery and had her interior refurbished. She looked like a brand new airplane.

UA had a really nice 777 pin design. Wonder if I could get one on eBay! Will EZ have some sort of special livery or marking for the 1000th 777?

Congratulations to BOEING! not only are they hitting the 1000 mark, but she is a beautiful aircraft!

Indeed. As a fan of the 777 series I'm extremly glad that they've reached this milestone. Congratulations to Boeing. Here's to another 1000?

Thanks to the way line numbers work, it's really only about 990 to go. There are the two delivered planes, the six flying test airplanes, plus the couple that are already flight-worthy that went to San Antonio.

Tom.
