DXB-BEG-DXB is only a little longer than U2's LTN-TLV-LTN flight, so it's quite possible they also operate out and back with the same crew. A three hour wx delay on the inbound would almost certainly time them out for the return and cancel the flight.
...love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again...

flydubai flight FZ741 from Dubai to Belgrade on Thursday, Nov 10 diverted to Sofia due to severe fog at Belgrade airport. After a short delay the flight departed Sofia and landed safely in Belgrade. After a quick turnaround the flight was ready to depart for Dubai when it was then subject to a delay from Euro Control in Brussels. This pushed the crew beyond their legally allowed operating hours.
Passengers were given refreshments and accommodated overnight in nearby hotels. The flight departed Belgrade at 9am on Friday, Nov 11 and landed without incident at Dubai International Airport at 5.15pm.
This was a very unfortunate set of circumstances which was beyond our control. flydubai has an On Time Performance record of 85pc, which is one the best in the industry, and we understand how disappointing delays of this nature are to our customers. Of course this was especially disappointing since it was our first flight to Belgrade.
