Parts and assemblies are already being built by the various suppliers around the world!

Quoting Aeolus (Reply 2):

It is being assembled at YMX, outside of Montreal.

The National Post had an article on Bombardier's attempts to minimize testing delays recently, with some discussion about supply chain management.

It is being assembled at YMX, outside of Montreal.

The Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines that will power the CSeries are also being built at YMX where P&W also has their major test facility for all models of the geared turbofan and where their two 747SP testbeds are based.

This may be the first time an aircraft and its engines are being built in the same location.

Concorde and Olympus 593 - were these both built at Filton?

I'm also interested in when FAL is going to start, and even more when first flight is scheduled? I just came across a 2009 presentation which aims for a Q3 2013 EIS (still correct as of today afaik), that means first flight should happen no later than Q1 2012...
If true, FAL should start really soon, but there is not much noise coming from BBD, it can be a good or a bad sign. But if we don't hear anything from BBD in the next 3 months (like start of FAL, or roll out), I think we can safely asume a slip in EIS.

So, hopefully we hear from BBD soon
