I didn't see this posted, and it looks pretty serious IMHO.

Less than 10 meters is really close !!!

That does sound pretty serious. However, you need to realize this is just an observer. Depth perception could of hindered an accurate distance as well as a possible over exaggeration. But needless to say, I am interested to see what happens when the details unfold.

OK, now put yourself in the passenger seat of the American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145, looking out the window and seeing the A-319 coming right at you!

I've got things to see and people to do.

Thanks for the landing chart! It makes things a lot easier to follow what actually happened

Landing on 24L, and probably instructed to hold short of 24R, the crew of the Eagle ERJ145 would be staring at two sets of flashing red lights on each side of the taxiway, as well as red lights right across the taxiway.

These lights are extinguished when clearance to cross is issued.

I can't imagine anyone taxiing between and right over these lights, without at least confirming the clearance. They are very bright, and pretty obvious their intent.

It is Air Canada SOP, when operating at an airport so equipped, (LAX also comes to mind) that the pilots must state and confirm, "We have the verbal, we have the visual, we are cleared across". Without either you do not move.
