AA 767 Returning To Miami

Was on flightradar24 and spotted this. Anyone know why it is returning to Miami?

IMHO, probably just more "problems" with publicly available flight tracking software.

The ground track in your photo indicates a flight that has departed MIA and appears to be returning and that the flight identification is AA1940. Unfortunately, AA1940 isn't scheduled to depart ORD for another hour.

The flight details window in your photo indicates the flight to be ORD-MIA and the acft is A346AN. That was YESTERDAY'S flight AA1940, ORD-MIA. That flight departed ORD 50 minutes late and arrived MIA 40 minutes late (at midnight).

The ground track is clearly NOT for AA1940, either last night or tonight.

The data (destination, flight numbers) are sometimes wrong I have noticed. Although the actual coloured track is correct as this is the signal being given off by the ADB-S receiver, so I know that is correct. Still there was an AA 763 returning back to MIA for some reason

The info was NOT correct.

On Nov.22 -- AA had NO acft depart and return to MIA.
There was one "Ground Interrupt" -- acft left gate and returned to a gate, but never left the ground.

On Nov.23 -- AA had NO acft depart and return to MIA.
There were six "Ground Interrupts."

On all of these Ground Interrupts, the plane eventually departed for its scheduled destination and did NOT return to MIA.

IOW, there was no "AA 763 returning back to MIA for some reason" on either of those dates.

Yes, AA989 did return to MIA. It departed on 21st and returned at 03:16 on 22nd. About 40 hours BEFORE the photo / screen capture was taken. Definitely not what is being discussed.

It is also the lone AA "airborne interrupt" that departed MIA since before Nov.19th.
