Quite a lot of new retro liveries popping up these days. Looks very similar to most retro liveries, but it's still a great look in my eyes and I wish more airlines would do this - esp on widebodies. Imagine an LH A380 in the original chrome belly livery of the 70s

What thinkest thou?

I must admit I love the current craze for retrojets!!!! Im beginning to spot them all over the place and they make such a nice change from.
Especially love the Aer Lingus, Iberia and Air France ones. I really wish BA would do a BEA and BOAC one instead of the half hearted attempts before the retire a type!!!!

My views are my own and do not reflect any other person or organisation.

I agree totally. An A320 in BEA "Red Square" livery and a 77W in BOAC Cunard livery would look spot on.

The article in the link also states that a new cabin has been introduced with this A320. Anybody in the knows where this aircraft is based at? MUC?

Just when I thought I had ''caught'' them all, Aer Lingus, Aerosvit, CSA, LOT, Condor and I think some other East European (JAT?) roll out new retro liveries.

It's about time they introduce them to their heavy aircraft. As said, a LH retro A380, AF Skyteam A380, a BA BOAC 77W or 744.. A retro IB A346 would also be too good to be true.

Does DE base aircraft? Looking at acarsd.org the plane has been flying to holiday destinations from all over Germany. HAM, HAJ, CGN, FRA, STR, etc.

The best looking Lufthansa plane is the A321 D-AIRX.

Haven't all Condor A320's been retrofitted by Airbus with the actual new Airbus interior with the new PSU's, which every A32X from about mid 2007 has received? I read an article somewhere about it...

Comparing this retro livery to the original photographs it looks like the shade of blue is wrong.
It should be Navy blue.

I´d love Air Canada to do a 70s CP Air-livery on a 777. That would be a great looking aircraft.

Btw, I think the Condor retro looks pretty dull, nowhere near the LH retro-A321.

Providing that the blue depicted on the old slides is the original one. Colours tend to change with the time, and these slides were not scanned when taken in the early 60's (you may note that the grey concrete apron looks pinkish).
For me, the biggest difference is the width of the stripe along the windows. It looked wider on the Viscount, obviously due to respective sizes of the windows and the plane itself.

^ Tend to agree with that. All the colours in these old picture look a bit over the top, and some additional contrast has been added as well.

That's because most liveries looked pretty similar back in the days. Everybody who is claiming that liveries used to be much more creative needs to be remined of that.

Looks nice, nothing beats a black nose cone and a nice cheatline on an aircraft.

I believe in Berlin-Schoenefeld, aren´t all A320 Condor-Berlin aircraft ?

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

Actually it's from the 50s.

In the 70s they looked like this:
