A quick heads up for travellers arriving Thursday AM. 80mph + winds.
The Met office has issued its highest alert possible.

Looks that Scotland will get the worst of it.
Will quieten down Thursday night but then some heavy snow falls are predicted for Friday morning, again around the GLA & EDI area.

Stay safe.

Hopefully, I will have dodged the bullet. Flying from Rome into LHR late Friday evening, when the worst should be over, at least in London. I suspect I will be bouncing my way over the Alps, though. Thanks for the heads up...

The Met Office warnings map has changed several times today but it's currently showing GLA, PIK and EDI in the red (i.e. most at risk) sector with INV and ABZ (and, for that matter, NCL) in the amber sector, Whatever eventually transpires, it look like flying in or out of Scottish airports won't be fun tomorrow

Sorry, just re-read my post and I meant to say "with all other Scottish airports including INV and ABZ (and, for that matter, NCL) in the amber sector".

To be fair, most airports coped pretty well last year and LGW suffered very significant snow falls as i'm sure you will know. There is only so much you can do and whilst I agree some Countries are better at it, they are the ones that have the most practice.

Proud to fly from Manchester!
