MSN numbers 871 and 925 (KC-45D version) are apparently in long-time storage for several years. My question is whether there will be any future use for these frames? Can they be rebuilt/ modified or adapted to specific customer demand?
What can be the reason for a very popular type of aircraft like the 330 sitting there unused?

Indeed those were the two demonstrators built for the KC-45 (and therefore would belong more in the military forum with a more accurate title).
I believe MSN925 (SDD2) is mostly a green frame and did not undergo much conversion work, I'm surprised it's still sitting around instead of being completed as pax aircraft. Could be a candidate for a P2F conversion program?
MSN871 (SDD1) OTOH had already undergone (cargo) conversion work at EFW, and not sure how far (if at all) the installation of military equipment in Getafe got. I'm surprised work on it hasn't restarted as a tanker for RAAF / RAF / RSAF once the KC-46 program was cancelled.
