UPS has recently moved its Gulf Coast sorting facility to PNS from Mobile's Brookley Field to PNS. The news report in the link says that UPS will be flying A300's, 757's, and 767's into PNS regularly. This facility has been opened since 31 October. Does anyone have any idea how many flights UPS will operate into PNS daily?

Also, Pensacola Regional Airport has been officially renamed Pensacola International Airport. Can anyone tell me if this has anything to do with this new UPS Facility? I know PNS won't be seeing any international passenger flights.

It's usually only 2 flights a day....an A300 right now. Still interesting to see a widebody at PNS.

No, it's mainly just a marketing ploy to make the airport sound bigger than it is. I think PNS was feeling a little envy after ECP opened since ECP is also an "international" airport.

PFN was also dubbed "international". Of course there were no international flights there but they did have an agreement with the Port of Panama City to "borrow" ICE agents in the event there's a need to process an international flight.
