checking for a flight from BER to JFK on AF in October 2012 in Amadeus, I realized that the BER-CDG shows arriving in 2F (while at present it arrives at shabby 2D). I checked for other German airports as well, and I realized that all flights which used to arrive in 2D will arrive in 2F. This is mainline AF, means from FRA/MUC/DUS/HAM/BER.... Regional (i.e. LEJ/BRE/HAJ/NUE) will obviously remain in 2G.
Did I missed something? I guess arriving in 2F is a vast improvement from 2D. It will also offer seemless connections to other european countries, i.e. a flight from DUS to VCE will now arrive and depart in same terminal 2F.

I agree 2F is much nicer than 2D and transferring within 2F is much easier than to the other terminals. However, last year I flew DUS-CDG-TRN and arrival and departure terminal was 2D. Although not as nice as 2F connecting wasn't so bad. Now if AF is able focus all their EU/Schengen flights in 2F well then that is a real plus for their pax. If not then maybe they're just consolidating their German flights in 2F and maybe their French flights in 2D, or something along that line.

october 2012.... this is surely in line with the opening of the new sattelite S4.
If I remeber properly AF will probably transfer all the flights from 2D to 2F (not only the German ones) and 2f will be 100% Schengen terminal

Sounds nice Just a silly question. What terminal will S4 be? and for what will it be used? It's a new "pier" for Terminal 2E? It's time that AF leaves the dump areas of CDG, 2A, 2D, 2C... and consolidates the operation in closer and newer terminals. 2G is still something not very nice... But as far as I understood they have fast transfer bus from 2G to 2E which runs airside and is better than the landside bus which takes ages....
Yes, STR is mainline, served with A319.
I am confused though, wikipedia states STR flights are using 2F while all other German flights are using 2D.
But CDG flight schedule says STR flights are currently using 2D.
