Just bought my ticket to OKC for the new year and noticed that MEM-OKC has been upgauged to 2x CRJ and 1x A319 on weekdays, but only temporarily. Reverts back to 3x CRJ in January. Any particular reason for the extra capacity? No complaints from me, but I'm just curious. The more mainline in OKC the better!

I had noticed that when I was shopping around a few weeks ago for an OKC trip.

OKC has a problem. Everyone, no doubt including the airport authority, would like to see more mainline flights. However, even with the current economic boom, I doubt they could fully support multiple daily mainlines.

Currently they've got:
1. WN
2. AA to DFW
3. UA to DEN
4. DL to ATL and MEM

Am I missing any?

The general - and ongoing - struggle to replicate the Avros? Especially ex-MEM, the routes that saw a lot of Avro service seem to be the ones with the highest number of unpredictable capacity changes.

Looks just like temporary bump in capacity over the holidays.

LIT-MEM loses its A319 in January as well.

And even the F100s! At least DL has significantly improved the OKC-DTW experience with CR7s and CR9s. Still no mainline on OKC-ORD amazingly, although I'm sure that keeps yields high.

OKC as a city is experiencing astounding growth, and even with the worldwide economy, growth at the airport has remained steady. We've had twice-daily MD-88's on OKC-ATL for most of the summer and fall in addition to 2 or 3 CR7 and CR9's; UA has added SFO; WN adding MDW; AA adding LAX, etc. So it's helped a lot, but I still have seen the avg. fare my company pays for travel out of OKC go up significantly over the past 24 months, particularly to the East Coast., I'm not complaining, I just think mainline to ORD or some other growth to an East Coast gateway are the next step here, and I really do think we'll see something significant coming that direction in the next year.

I hope so. Surely if DL thinks there's a market for LGA-OMA, they can give OKC a shot!

Mainline to ORD, as much as I like OO (And I like them A LOT), is long overdue.

Hopefully UA will do the right thing and put one in. They could run it ORD-OKC-IAH-OKC-ORD...

Flight 1323 (A319) comes in from MEM tonight at 2120 local and will have a sleepover in OKC for the night then back out. It is pretty rare to have 2 mainliners here at the same time in OKC. 319 at 24 and the Maddog at 22.

It's just until January 3.

In February we lose the second mainline to Atlanta (seasonal), and in March the remaining mainline )RON) gets upgauged to a 738.

Isn't there also an AA Maddog overnight and a UA 320?

AA RON's 3 MD80's and 2 CR7's, UA RON's 1 319/320 (depending on the night) and a ton of RJ's, and in February UA will start 737's to IAH in addition to the Airbus to DEN, WN RON's 5 737's and F9 RON's 1 E190, DL has 5 RON's (4 RJ's, 1 mainline -- except for right now which will be two mainline RON's and 3 RJ's)
