I was wondering, it has been a long time since DL acquired that particular aircraft for lease. Previously, it was stated that it would enter service in the summer of 2011, and that never happened.
I was wondering, have the plans for DL to put that particular aircraft into service been scrapped? Perhaps it will be the launch aircraft for flat beds on DL's international 757 BusinessElite cabin, which DL has yet to announce.
Does anyone know what is going on?

My understanding is that it will eventually go into service as ship 6818. It is a 757-2Q8 much like a portion of the other 6800 series aircraft however it is an older frame. It is taking considerably longer and requiring more engineering resources than anticipated to get it into service, partially due to the numerous operators it has had, all outside the US which makes the records review more challenging. From what I heard, Delta got a "too good to pass up" lease rate on the aircraft which will be partially offset by the higher cost to get it integrated into the fleet.

I also wonder if this aircraft will get the regular Panasonic eFX monitors in Y, or will it get the Panasonic Eco 9i monitors? Also, will the Y seats be Weber 5751 or B/E Aerospace Pinnacle?
I presume this aircraft will get the overhead bin extensions like the rest of the PMDL fleet, and possibly the updated aftermarket PSUs with LED reading lights (this particular aircraft has the older 1980s-style PSUs, unlike the rest of DL's 6800-series which have the newer solid-state style introduced in the mid-1990s).
The BusinessElite cabin will be something to watch. Remember that the Recaro CL 4420 seats on the 6800-series are leased, and perhaps DL will finally announce flat-bed seats for the international 757 fleet, launching on N624AG.

I don't know what the plans are for seats or IFE EXACTLY but it will get a complete cabin mod like the rest of the 75Es. New lav, sidewalls, new PSUs/LED lights, new cabin lights, etc and a new galley set-up. Don't count on flatbed seats for this, or any DL 757 IMHO.
