I just drove past EWR on 95 headed north and noticed an all white 747 parked west of the 22s at the area 340 parking with its nose facing the highway. there appeared to be a black word across the fuselage between the main and upper deck windows. and the tail had what looked like some gold that had either been painted over or something to that effect. reminded me of the 5Y pax 747s with their white and gold livery, except that anything that was on the tail had been covered ish.
The only thing I can think of 2 possibilities,
1) a PMUA 747 at EWR for a face lift, but it was not parked facing the CO hangar, nor do I even know for certain if UA can do 747 mx at EWR.
2)a 5Y 747, but doesn't 5Y prefer JFK to EWR?
Anybody know anything about this aircraft?
(did a search but couldn't find anything, if discussed I'd love to read the thread)

It is. It's a Kalitta 747 in white.
The usually have a couple of them in their standard colors, but lately, they have a couple of them in white. You can barely see the writing if you were looking at them from the terminals.

I see these 747-200's landing when I'm at EWR for early-mid morning flights. I always see them parked by the north terminal areas when we're taxiing out for departure on 22R. I'd wondered about them too until now!
