WHAT IS THIS REPORT?
This compares what is for sale THIS WEEK for the stated period versus what was for sale LAST WEEK...It

does NOT compare to last year or now (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED).

HOW DO I READ IT?
XXX-YYY DEC 4>5 JAN 4>5 ; means that the listed airline changed the frequency between the two airports

to add from 4 to 5 roundtrips in December and January. No other months were changed. I only list one

direction, although it is possible the listed change is only one way. It is too difficult to average

the two directions. I assume the change is roundtrip and that is most often the case.

HOW ARE THE DAILY DEPARTURES CALCULATED?
This report uses total operations for the month listed, divided over the days in the month.

WHAT ARE THE FRACTIONAL FLIGHTS?
Non-daily operations create fractional weekly service. In most cases flights are rounded, but in the

case of international service or markets with low frequency, fractions are shown. If a flight operated

5 days out of 7, it would show 0.8 flights.

WHY ARE THERE WEIRD FREQUENCIES IN FAR AWAY MONTHS FOR LCCs?
Most airlines publish schedules 11 months in advance. This report covers the next 9 months. That

avoids seeing schedules as they are loaded. Several LCCs load their schedules less than 9 months into

the future. Their schedules may also end mid-month. If B6 loads their schedule until Jan15, all

flights in Janaury will show half frequency because of the way the report is created.

WHY IS A WHOLE AIRLINE'S SCHEDULE SHOWN AS CHANGING FOR A FUTURE MONTH?
Similarly to the previous question, some airlines load their schedule from nothing inside the 9 month

window of this report. When their schedule is extended it will show as new service because there was

no previous schedule to compare to. In some instances I will show a more valid comparison against

another period.

THOSE FLIGHTS AREN'T DELTA, THEY ARE PINNACLE
This report only shows the marketing code. It is too complicated to show all the operators.

THE FREQUENCIES MAY HAVE CHANGED AS YOU SHOW, BUT THE SEATS DIDNT CHANGE BECAUSE OF EQUIPMENT SWAPS
That is a natural weakness of a frequency based report, but it provides something to discuss below.

THE FREQUENCY DOESN'T SHOW A CHANGE, E.G. 4>4
This happens as a result of rounding. There is a change in service that is large enough to be listed,

but through rounding it does not appear.

I marked some of the ones I thought were interesting with an "*".

Sorry for the late report...Holidays and all...expect next week to have few changes based on the last

few years.

It appears the last of the DL section may have been cut off?

Thanks for your research, much appreciated.

These reductions were in the existing schedule frame.

F9 also did a scheduled extension till August. These changes are versus the prior year.
Looks like about 26 fewer flights from DEN if I count right. Since they haven't said anything publicly about shrinking DEN significantly, that seems to be a major shift. The MKE cut has been well-publicized.

HON-MCK is one of the more unusual routes to receive air service, even by EAS standards. I wonder if even one passenger / year flies Huron-McCook.

Prior to deregulation, MCK was served by the original Frontier, as a stop on their "Nebraska milk run" that went Denver-McCook-Kearney-Hastings-Grand Island-Columbus-Omaha. HON was served by North Central, Sioux Falls-Mitchell-Huron-Pierre-Rapid City or Sioux Falls-Mitchell-Huron-Aberdeen-Bismarck-Minot

You're joking, right? Flight is doing fine. Great load-factors and average fares are good. This isn't even a serious reduction and it's for less than three weeks. Back to the normal schedule in February. Wouldn't be surprised if it was (lack of) equipment-related, especially with just one A340 in BCN.

I really can't fault any airline for starting new routes, but this one was just really ridiculous on the part of DL. This market is already over-saturated with UA, F9, WN and AA all having multiple flights daily on this route. I do think that if DL added maybe a flight or two to connect with flights at LAX, okay, but to start with four, and then take them all away.......

I have to wonder what they were smoking up there in the DL route planning department that day this one was planned....

Seasonality plays into this. As for FAT-GDL, the combined AM and Y4 traffic for November was the second highest since the service began, with just over 7,000 pax outbound on the two daily flights. First months of 2012 will be very light and once Easter hits, it's all on the upswing until the mid-August/mid-September slump begins.

Looks like AA is maintaining the February schedule: not operating the late morning ORD-SEA flight and the mid-afternoon SEA-ORD return.

Hopefully just a seasonal adjustment from AA. Perhaps AS could step in with a 4th daily SEA-ORD if this is permanent - with AA handling AS at ORD, connections are pretty easy.

I could see an almost complete pull out of the NW by AA in the future. They have never been that strong here, they have pulled out of EUG & BOI, (granted small markets) PDX has been w/o an ORD non-stop for a while, the flights out here (with exception of some upgauged seasonal service) has been M80's and more recently 737's, with exception of the SEA-NRT flight, and the corresponding connecting flights to MIA, BOS, JFK & BNA from SEA, they have showed little love up here.

They twice dimantled a west coast carrier with only short lived route retention, They have struggled for market share from the NW. I expect they lost ground with ORD as UA mostly operated a larger aircraft, and had more frequencies.

AS has nicely filled the void with ORD flights from PDX & SEA, They already fly to DFW, why couldn't they eventually take over a large part the NW to ORD & DFW gateways flying for AA. I am not thinking AA would want to totally ignore an entire section of the USA, and that's what it's becoming lately, but who knows how deep they may have to cut to emerge BK healthier. Maybe a further understanding could take place between AS & AA.

Don't peg me as an AA hater, I've travelled more AA than almost any other carrier in flown miles, with possible exception of DL, and their service is quite satisfactory, F,J & Y, I'm just calling it as I've seen it, and I've been up here more on than off for 40 years now, so I remember when they first started flying the NW, flying back and forth to college was great when on a 727-100 PDX-EUG and would pay $20 o/w, for as long as that service lasted.

I guess we now know what else DL has decided to cut in the first round of the slot transaction. Several weeks ago, they announced several Florida cuts (plus OMA and STL, IIRC) but that only amounted to 14 flights and they must cut 29 by the end of March. They have separately decided to end DCA-JAN, so there will actually be decrease of 30 flights.

See above.

As a result of the slot transaction, DL must cut a total of 50 flights from DCA so most of the P2P routes they currently fly out of DCA will be discontinued by July. Also, DL never considered the DCA-BOS route as part of their Shuttle. DL Shuttle has always been LGA-BOS/DCA with LGA-ORD being added in recent years as well.

What are you talking about? First of all, the high season for MIABCN is summer. Second of all, it has never been more than 3x weekly. It has always been 3x weekly. What looks to be going on is some non-operation of flights in late January, which likely is a sign of aircraft maintenance/shortage. What is happening is the flight is not operating on JAN17, JAN20, JAN24, JAN28 and JAN31. That's it. There ar similar day-of-operation cancellations on MADBOG, MADEZE and MADLIM. Want to claim those routes are failures?

Quoting UALWN (Reply 20):

Of course not. Because you are making things up and claiming that MIABCN operates at more than 3x weekly. Never has.

29 slcdeltarumd11 : This was clearly a dartboard route....yeah i went there. I am surprised to see them cancel this quick though??? Seems a little interesting or suspici
30 Post contains images cbphoto : PIR-MSP is pretty much in direct response to XJ dropping that route! It is also a way to route the 1900s to and from the DEN system for maintenance.
31 Post contains images Paul787 : I'm surprised about this one, as those flights are usually really packed. WN loves you
32 dumbell2424 : Hopefully it'll be back after bankruptcy.
33 enilria : But I said, "perhaps they leased a non-Air21 slot to...WN" so I don't understand why you would say "WN does not own or have any Air21 slots". Yes, bu
34 Post contains images cbphoto : No worries, Thanks for all your hard work! I find out more stuff about my companies schedules from you, then I do my own company!
35 PSU.DTW.SCE : Like you said, I highly doubt there were too many people booked on these flights more than 6 months in advance. A drop in the bucket. I think A.net i
36 knope2001 : I don't believe either of those to be the case. The Frontier 2012 LGA schedule has one fewer flight than 2011, but that fewer flight is an arrival af
37 B595 : Any confirmation these are legit, or are they just OAG hiccups that will be reversed in the next update or two?
38 knope2001 : You do, of course, know that Huron-McCook is simply for the purpose of serving Huron-Denver 1-stop, yes? There are many simlar nonstop city pairs XXX
39 polot : DL is going to start LGA-ALB and LGA-BTV at about the same frequencies (loaded last week), so they are probably legit cuts from JFK.
40 atrude777 : Gotcha! Then no at this time they have not, all WN owns are the ones from ATA, pre merger, and FL side. Alex
41 WA707atMSP : Of course I knew that. However, I think it would make more sense for ZK to make the one permitted intermediate stop PIR, as they have in the past. I'
42 B595 : Disappointing, if true. This is more than a move from JFK to LGA. It also is a notable capacity cut: JFK-BTV: 3 CR7, 1 CR9 LGA-BTV: 2 CR7, 1 E145 Als
43 slcdeltarumd11 : If you want to admit it or not its pretty significant if it was intentional. To cut a route so far in the future so soon. It has Nothing to do with L
44 cbphoto : I don't quite understand this statement. Where would the aircraft be flying empty too? HON generates a significant amount of traffic, so they would c
45 Fyano773 : It appears AM is rescheduling CDG by April and suspending BCN till July. Enilria, do you happen to know about these changes? Anybody? Thanks...
46 DLCnxgptjax : Actually, you bring up a good point. Skywest has 4 CR7's that are going to GoJet. GoJet will be doing quite a bit of LGA flying. So it's quite possib
47 FutureUScapt : The route was virtually all local traffic - less than 2 PDEW were connecting. But that said, I suspect they realize there is no meaningful potential
48 knope2001 : Just one less: 2011 DEN 3x MKE 3x MCI 3x 2012 DEN 4x MKE 2x MCI 2x
49 FutureUScapt : F9 was operating 4x MKE service last summer though. Or did you mean just one slot less that falls under a time of day that is slot enforced?
50 knope2001 : That's right...I forgot about that seasonal 4th flight addition...I'll see if I can figure it out.
51 Post contains links enilria : This document from 10 years ago showed that YX was awarded Air21 slots for MKE and GRR to LGA. They never surrendered them. I am not certain if they
