Today at FLL I grabbed a jB schedule and noticed they will be starting Dulles based flights to Long Beach and Oakland. I found this interesting considering they currently have no flight from JFK to Dulles meaning these flights will be California based and not really Washington unless they plan on shuttleling the planes from JFK every so often. Do they plan on expanding Dulles to perhaps Florida? Us PBI'ans can sure use an IAD and I'm sure it would be very profitable, another FLL flight would be good too. It was interesting seeing how long jetBlue would remain an all JFK airline.
And also, I know jB is a low fare carrier and all, but do they ever have plans on serving food? The number one comment with people who I've book on them has been "they didn't serve us food." As mentioned in the topic on MSNBC, I usually reply, "hey, you wanted the cheapest, you should feel good enough they let you watch your own TV." Let me make it clear that I don't feel they should serve food at this stage and fares. I guess what I'm getting at is do they always plan on being a low fare carrier like WN or do they plans in the long run to become a standard service airline?
I noticed I have asked these questions like I want to know the exact answer, but I would also like to see a lot of comments and opinions. I apologize if the Dulles base has already been brought up but I did a search and didn't find anything.
Regards,
Matt

FlyVirgin744 number one comment with people who I've book on them
Nothin' like priorities I guess, empty stomach vs. blank seat-back
(though maybe in that case it'd then be, hey, nooo IFE, what gives?! )
I guess they could offer everybody maybe a sub and some peanuts on the longer near-cross-country runs, but then that too has its drawbacks, not least of which having to then offer some drinks to wash it down with as well. And the added hassle of clean up, during and after flight. It's a shame and nitpicking I think, really, since I don't count on getting such great food even from the 'full-service' guys. Oh well, hopefully still just a small beef with most people (excuse the pun).

JetBlue informs their customers what to expect on their flights, so it's the passengers' responsibility to eat beforehand or bring their own sub and coke along.
What food offerings are there at JFK T6? I would think that a Subway, McDonalds, or other purveyor of easy-to-take-with-you food would make a killing there.
This DC denizen is very glad that JetBlue will add IAD-JFK next year. Then I'll be able to use JetBlue to go home to Rochester.

Aren't Jetblue's transcon flights red-eyes? Most full service carriers don't offer food on transcons on late evening and red eye flights.

I'm sorry for not putting this in the main post, but the people I booked said the T6 food kiosks were unreliable and long queues. I have not been to JFK since I was 5 so I can't comment on what restaurants are there but the lack of food in the terminal has been brought to my attention more than once. I tell people to get subway and bring it onboard. I'm then asked "They allow that?"

DesertJets, I'm pretty sure their west bound transcon arent red eyes. I usually get a meal though on Delta from PBI to LGA. And let me make it clear again, I do not feel jetBlue should be serving meals at this time for their startup and low fare reasons, its simply a question if they ever will.

JFK-IAD will happen as gocaps16 said.
no plans to fly from IAD to and florida cities at this time.
FLL will be getting at least 2 more flights by the end of the year.
ONT OAK SEA DEN and SLC are all red eyes. ONT and OAK have daytime flights as well. I believe LGB will start with one red eye and one morning flight.
as far as food goes, we dont serve any, and i dont see it happening. this is for 2 reasons. first, it would cost us too much, which would in turn, cause us to raise our fares, which simply cannot happen second, with the added trash, it would be more difficult to turn our a/c as fast as we do. i heard a rumor that we were thinking of a "pay-per-meal" gimick where a pax could pay like $3 extra and get some sort of meal. we do tell our pax that we dont serve food, and we encourage them to bring food on. the food at T6 really isnt the greatest. there is a great gourmet pizza place though that i hit everytime. it good stuff. in our last company newsletter they said that nov 1st we will be taking over T6 and we do plan to upgrade and renovate the food selection.

I have flown B6 twice... they said there was not going to be food (there ARE drinks and snacks BTW so you will not starve) and I knew from Pan Am experience that the food in T-5 and T-6 is not very good.
We took the occasion to visit the new T-4 and check out the food there... we got very good sandwiches and salads and brought them aboard with us. You can bet that there were some jealous eyes on us
I'm glad that jetBlue is taking over T-6 and hope they clean it up and improve the food. However, in the meantime T-4 and T-7 have better options if you have a few minutes, and once the monorail is running it will be even easier to get back and forth.

I think that's a great idea! Make the food section much like IND's food court, which is much like you'd find in a mall.
JetBlue should encourage people to bring food with them. Maybe running this in a ad or something, I don't know.
