On a British Airways 744 back in 1996 we covered the distance between Boston and London Heathrow in 4 hours and 52 minutes !!! That was definitely the fastest I've been on !

It is unlikely, YOERI1970, but it actually happened. I was a very rough flight in parts, as with altitude changes the winds changed dramatically. We had a groundspeed well above 600kts, but airspeed was of course lower. I have never before or after crossed the Atlantic in less than 6 hours. But even the captain said it was rare.

I flew from Athens to Dubai with Olympic on a 707. I think that it was over 1000km/h. The aircraft was pretty empty and the 707 is pretty fast, isn't it?

It actually isn't rare at all. That is about VS usual flight time for that segment during certain times of the year. I'd say the times over a year's period will avg 6hrs.

Loganair used to offer a flight from Westray to Papa Westray, which had a scheduled flight time of 2 minutes (yes, two minutes!), with the BN Islander, if I remember correctly.
