Anyone know why the Atlas Air 767 is visiting Palm Beach International today. I was told there are a total of 4 charters coming in today. Aircraft parked at gate C5 which is used by Delta/Air Canada. Heard rumors that is involves a big party/event in Boca Raton. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

There were a number of BSK 738 fights to PBI from various points in Canada today. Possibly connected?

Yes, they are connected. I have confirmed that all the charters were from Canada, including the Atlas 767. I have been told they will be leaving on Wednesday. Apparently there is some type of conference or event they are all in town for.

Is the Atlas 767 a PAX acft? If so when did they enter the passenger business? Or did they lease this aircraft to another operator?

The 767 is a pax aircraft. I was told it came in with 250 on board. If I am not mistaken it entered service with Altas last year.

Atlas has been flying passengers since October 2009 when they initiated service between IAH and LAD on behalf of Sonair with 2x 747-400's. The route was previously contracted by Sonair to World Airways with MD-11's.

In 2011 Atlas added 3 additional 747-400's and 1 767-300 configured for passengers. They are used for charters with various customers. Many more 767-300's are planned.

Thank you gents! I have to admit, the 747 looks pretty spiffy in the Bronze/Brass colors!

At least one of the 747-400s has been returned to the lessor after just one year.

I know this bird kept the old UA interior when it was at Atlas (or at least it had it when I saw it), will UA be fitting the new seats on board now?

That Atlas 767-300 has been parked on the remote stand since Sunday. Still sitting there as of 5:00p this evening, 09JAN.
