Volaris has signed a purchase agreement for 30 A320NEO and 14 A320s. The airline hasn't selected an engine for the aircraft which they will do at a later date.
Congrats to Volaris and Airbus on this order. Can't wait see these planes flying into MDW and would like to see what Volaris has planned for the A320NEO.

Great news, congrats to Volaris and Airbus.

I'm getting 1351 firm orders for the NEO (including the questionable Republic order).
Same here
Republic's order is questionable indeed though... I don't believe it has been firmed.
Still waiting for Alafco to firm their additional 30 birds which was expected to be completed by the end of 2011. Aside from Alafco and Republic, that leaves us with only Avianca and ALC left to firm their orders, yes?

"The addition of 44 A320s will more than double the airline’s all-Airbus fleet to support further expansion and fleet-renewal plans. The airline now operates 34 Airbus aircraft and has 58 more on order"
With this order Volaris has safely secured its spot as Aeromexico's top rival....

Well, seems my post in the current Mexican Aviation thread was ignored completely... I found the news bulletin on Volaris' website and it dates from November 2011 which is kind of weird, but oh well.
What expansion plans does Y4 have? More USA routes??

Quoting Chiad (Reply 1): I wonder if this firm order will be in the 2011 or 2012 books.
I guess we'll find out on the 17th. Airbus will be announcing their 2011 results in a live stream at 10:30 CET.
