Virgin Blue will be have been flying one year on 28 August and on Friday night August 3rd, they are offering 1000 seats at $1.00, for travel on August 28th.
Might just book the seats to show an invoice with $1.00.

in attendence, all other crews overstaying in SYD, MEL
and ADE will also have free drinks and food supplied

Isn't it great to have an airline showing some flair in OZ at last??? 1000 $1 tickets is no major loss (rest assured it will on off-peak services) but it sure is great publicity.
You also have to consider the return flights for all the people who aren't aviation nuts like us and may want to stay a day or two in the city they are visiting.
Just my $0.02 (if I do it 50 times I get a flight, yay!)

Well... a java countdown thingie has popped up on http://www.virginblue.com.au and it says 45 mins and counting down to go. Lets see how this works.
This special, unlike some of their others in the past, has been pumped on local radio here in AU so I'm expecting to see the "Webserver too busy" error soon. I'm not really hopefull that I'll get one.... (my ISP's never the best...)..
I wonder if I can book more then one $1 flight at a time? MEL -> SYD -> MEL with some friends on the 28th would be fun.... if I can pull it off.
