But it wouldn't be BA that would own BE. It would be IAG. As IAG grows the types of airlines within the group, and the markets they serve, will differ. Each airline operating as a seperate entity within the group but able to benefit from economies of scale in terms of purchase power of the parent IAG. Personally I'd like to see BE wholey owned by IAG as the regional airline for Europe operating between major cities which aren't hubs and operating some routes which are too thin for mainline ops by the likes of BA/IB. Bring BE into OW and allow customers flying on BE to earn FF miles on IAG programes e.g. BA Exec Club.
